Excellent service from repair shop! Only place around that opens at 9am on saturdays. Owner is a marine so please support local business as this man served our country proudly. Same day service on my bike tune up and new tires. Very please with service, expertise and friendly knowledgeable staff. A+
I assume the owner was the person who came out, and mind you there was no preamble to what amounted to a barely civil tirade at everyone who was there. Immediate threats of vehicles being towed, accusations of a rather ugly nature towards several people there, and an unmistakable air of animosity bordering on hate. By contrast the owner of the business next door (Big Mechanic) was awesome and cool, would gladly give him a trial run just based on a genial attitude and being generally nice. The UBC guy lost several people's business in those few minutes as quite a few people there had apparently been customers up to that point and were completely floored by the angry rant he threw at us. Not impressed on any level by a business owner who doesn't know how to approach potential customers with a civil attitude and a few minutes understanding. Could have asked people to move without threats and gotten a great response and probable return business from me. Confirms the general air of superiority and "you need us more than we need you attitude" that we have been treated to here. Never going back.
Great staff and service. They replaced a part on my bike in 3 hours and got me back on my bike to enjoy the weekend.
Witnessed how NOT to conduct business today. Have done business with them in the past, which honestly was only half done. Replaced a tire and did not lube the new hub, even after being told it would be needed based on brand and experience. Had to do the job at home ourselves. Also had a front fork that was obviously bent even to the relative novice, and was told that it was fine (even after they claim to have rode it and didn't notice a pull to one side?)
Best bike shop I have ever been into, the staff that work there love the job they do and they will take all the time you need to make up your mind on the right bike or accessories for you, every time I shop there it`s like i`m visiting a group of friends and I just met these guys a few weeks ago, if you drive 45 mins to shop there like I do, they will do their best to fix your bike while you wait just call them up before you head over. My bike was purchased and all maintenance performed by them.
Ordered a bike online and I messed it up initially. Called the next day and spoke with Connie who fixed the order with no complaints. Fast forward to later that week when the bike arrives, I get a call that it's ready to pick up (sooner than I had expected). Head to the shop and spend about half an hour with Kyle who adjusts the bike to my frame - shocks, seat and pedals/cleats. He goes over the basics of some of the new features and makes sure the bike is ready to ride. Well worth the time spent and customer service was excellent.
All of those things weren't quite enough to put us off of them, but today was rather telling about the personality behind the business. Parked at the shop along with several others playing a game (pokemon go) which was going to take a few minutes tops. Obvious bike racks on several of the vehicles including my own, which i though amusing that the shop would pick up some extra business after the game was done. I actually was looking to have a pretty major rework done on my son's bike (wheel dished, new freewheel, derailleur, chain, cables, etc). All in all it was going to be a pretty good bit of business.
