Tonight, I finally tried Casa Ramos! I teach at the gym next to the restaurant and have always thought I'd like to try it out. When I entered the restaurant, I was greeted almost in an annoyed fashion by who appeared to be a manager or even an owner (this much I do not know). I was seated in a back room area alone and waited probably 10 minutes to be offered water and greeted by my server. He was COVERED in sweat and I'm assuming was having a trying evening. I while I waited for my water (the restaurant had one large party and maybe 7 other tables sat in a dining space that can seat MUCH more), another server brought me the customary chips and salsa. There were literally like 10 chips and a salad dressing container with salsa in it- super cheap of the restaurant! My server returned and I ask to hear the sugar content in the margarita mix to see if I wanted one. He said, "I don't know..." I asked if he could find out and he disappeared for another 10 minutes, at which point, I left.
I've been here several times over the past 3 years. Great quality food, & good happy hour deals. My main issue is the long wait I've experienced on every visit. I just went on Friday night, the restaurant was by far not packed with customers. We ordered 2 nachos and it was a 40minute wait to get our food, which was brought to us with the wrong order. There used to be live music, with a woman singing at night, what happened to that?
We have been here twice now and had good experiences both times. This first time they didn't have any steak or beef, so we had chicken and pork fajitas, which were amazing. On both visits, they bring out free chips and salsa. The chips are hot and the salsa is a little spicy, but so good. They also have a 2for1 happy hour where I got sangria (they also do margaritas, wine and beer). The sangria was some of the best I've had! We got the fajitas for 2, and got pork, chicken, and steak. It comes with rice and beans, lettuce, cheese, sour cream, guac, pico, and tortillas. We couldn't eat it all, so we brought half back home. I really recommend the shredded pork, it's delicious!!The wait is not that bad at all. If they are making your food fresh, shouldn't it take a little while anyways? I'm fine with waiting if I know I'm getting fresh food. The staff is also very friendly. I will definitely come back here!!
What a horrible fiasco! Please jut close down if you are tired of running a restaurant; Tampa Palms is a wonderful neighborhood and you restaurant has potential, but the service SUCKS!
The food was amazing and the service was nice! Everything was absolutely delicious! If you're looking for authentic food, this is the best place in Tampa. Also like the atmosphere and location. It's like a hidden gem!
Ordered on UBER Eats at 10:50, even apologized in my order about ordering more than an hour before closing, I work in restaurants and I understand it's a pain to make food late, but come on. It's not like it's 10 minutes before closing. Wish I could try the food. I'll try somewhere else next time. You lost a customer.
