I came to this location in hopes of seeking peace and quiet since Bloomingdale location is too noisy. Instead what do I get? I get people who seem to think that the library is the place to eat. I have no idea what this idiot woman is eating but obviously whatever it is, it is resonating throughout the area. Like WTF!?! Do people not understand that people come here for peace and quiet? I'm here to study and not deal with the noise. Obviously Hillsborough County doesn't understand how libraries should operate.
The children's section looks very nice but this review is for the adult section. The library though clean and well kept has a lack of plugs in many areas. The patrons at points were quite loud. This is especially true near the meeting rooms where the library staff did nothing to quiet the situation for 15 minutes. The issue really was the lack of hand sanitizer and number of sick patrons. The computers had limited availability. I think this is a difficult situation for the library to remedy but more plugs and hand sanitizer dispensers may be a very worthy investment.
Note:. This library does not have parking. You have to park in the William F. Poe parking garage and enter the library through a glass tunnel that crosses over the street. The tunnel is on the 2nd floor.
If you live in Hillsborough County, this library is worth a visit!
Excellent resources, library is spacious but computer labs crowded
I could not believe how wonderful the Germany Library was! I took my five year old to see a play that the library presented, for free! Then we decided to explore. There are so many things to do there. There's a recording studio, many sewing machines to use, games to play and so much more. We spent quite a bit of time exploring.
the Hillsborough County public library system is one of the best i have encountered and this beautiful mid century modern building is its crown jewel.
