Not to mention the body exhibit we take our sons and that and the first thing that we see is a vagina pushing out a baby. What happens when all these children who are unattended or just looking around stumbles upon something like that? There should be someone by these certain exhibits able to explain some of the things that these children are going to see. This isn't just for adults, there should be a warning somewhere.. "by the way open vagina ahead" or "dead babies in a jar ahead".
Was excited for the grand reopening only to discover the whole main building was shut down and only a small wing was open for kids, called "Kids in Charge". We were anticipating greater things and brand new science exhibits to come during the 3 month renovation. Don't waste your time unless you have small kids.
Seriously? No mosi you need an upgrade. Took my kids...thought it was going to be this amazing experience....Not so much :-( it's a great thing that my family knows how to have fun no matter what we do or where we go otherwise this would've been a huge letdown. 20 something dollars you got to be freaking kidding me wouldn't even worth a three dollar entry fee. 1980s graphics...tornado simulation....my butt. Mario brothers had more pixels than the simulations. I don't like that they are beating people in that sense. All this money that you're making. I understand if you're broke & working on donations and your super cheap to get into. However, you have all this funding I can't understand how dare you be crappy as heck....it blows my mind.
Over all I'm dissatisfied.
Super disappointed. Bought two membership plans before the "closing for remodeling" under the impression it was going to come back bigger and better than before. This was NOT a remodel. This was a downsizing. Nothing new. Just kept some exhibits/ hands on from the main building and mixed them with some of the popular ones from the kids center. You could easily be done in 30 minutes and trust me this isn't an exciting place that you will want to come back to. Giant waste of money!! The main building is now rented to the County, there is no food, no snacks, no Imax, no gift shop and NO museum. I was told that this was part of the five year plan to save money to open a science museum in a new spot in Tampa. Wish I would have known that before we went for the Grand Down Sizing or purchased an annual membership.
Was a great place, I bought the season pass, then they closed for remodeling. I went back after they opened. What a waste of time, they didn't remodel, they downsized instead. The main building is closed (no one knows when it will be opened), only the kids side is open. I think it is very sad, that the only science museum in Tampa is closed.
This is a museum of technology!?!? Supposed to interest the kids!?!
My 2 kids loved it, (5 & 10). We got our admission with the Tampa City pass, so the price was great. We stayed about 3 hours before the kids were ready to go.
