I wanted to make a public statement about the customer service I found with this company. I worked with several individuals while working with my retirement account, and I found them to all be very helpful and friendly. One individual in the customer service department went above and beyond my expectations, and this young ladies' name is Lilly. She is outstanding at her job! Thank you so much.
Know that Aspire WILL try to make as much money from you, the client, if you choose to terminate services with them. On top of this $25 processing fee (to pay for what, I don't know), there is also a hefty termination fee. I do NOT recommend this company.
They issued my distribution check out to the incorrect recipient and in turn wanted me to pay a $25 processing fee. Aspire did not show me proof that I entered the recipient address wrong, did not contemplate the possibility that their end might also have been at fault, nor suggest alternative ways of solving this problem. Instead, I spent nearly two months being passed to different customer service reps and managers who refused my request of waiving the fee without suggesting any helpful alternatives. Overall, I dealt with incompetent, ignorant customer service at Aspire.
I own a financial planning firm, and Aspire is one of the most garbage administrative companies that I have ever dealt with. Their fees on their 403(b) accounts are great, but that is literally the only reason that we use them as there are no better alternatives in the 403(b) space.
