This is a beautiful must-see place if you live in the Bay Area. The Sunday Market is awesome. It's a good idea to get there earlier in the day before they sell out of certain items. The chicken and pork skewers are so tasty. Also the soup line is worth the wait!
Free parking
The temple is adorned and accessorized in gold , which made me pause because I always thought Buddhism was a non- materialistic type of religion. I'm not religious but I do visit religious temples or places of worship out of curiosity. I find that most religions always over accessorize with expensive materials.
It was a quick 30 minute visit. I imagine if I had arrived during meditation hours I would have stayed longer but arrived late in the evening.
Nice and peaceful place with a Buddhist temple every thing including three long. Buffets lines with great food Thai and curry meat pork chicken Also rice potatoes and many vegetable salad soup and desserts. Cash is the only available way to paid including books and price marks are known as donations! Prices are low and it's consider a non profits organization. Recommended to get around 8:30 to 9 am remember they serve brunch and get crowded
Sunday market: Great atmosphere, great food, great prices! Cash only, come prepared. And come early so they don't sell out of your favorite foods. If you plan on going into the temple, you will need to observe their dress code.
During the weekday it's solitary and very pieceful. I recommend going to the food market on Sundays. Go early and bring cash with you, the food disappears fast! They don't accept credit cards but it is so worth it. Buy a Thai tea for $1 and some Thai food and sit under the trees in their picnic tables and enjoy the day. It is very much worth it.
Interesting looking Buddhist temple, not what I expected. I thought statues of Buddha would be everywhere , I didn't see one anywhere.
There are two big green dragons in the back of the temple next to a water view. If you have kids they will love the dragons.
The trip to the temple was peaceful, no one was around except a couple of grounds keepers doing garden maintenance.
